PHOSPHORWAKE

Square bones. A steady signal. A little of every character stays behind.

A terminal that never slept.

An original pixel monospace with a very long memory.

Make an impression.

Type something worth burning in. Turn up the phosphor, change the tube, or switch off the halo to inspect the letterforms.

Choose Display to inspect large type, then Raw pixels to switch off glow and scanlines. Scroll within the specimen for long lines. Burn’s continuous pixel contours are built into the font; light and scanlines are rendering effects.

0O 1lI

Strange. Never ambiguous.

A marked zero, a grounded one, and a lowercase that holds its own. Built to read through the static.

Aa&@

A signal that holds together.

Clean pixel steps, open counters, and a fuller Burn silhouette. The same fixed-width skeleton, from a line of code to a title screen.

|> → ≠

From pipes to pointers.

Real coding punctuation, arrows, mathematical symbols, and terminal drawing characters. Explore the full set below.

Old soul.
New syntax.

For tomorrow’s software on yesterday’s imagined hardware. Equal cells keep the whole transmission in line.

// The signal is still out there.
const wake = ({ signal, decay = 0.98 }) => {
  return signal
    .filter(pixel => pixel.energy !== 0)

      energy: pixel.energy * decay

console.log("STILL HERE_", wake(frame));

Every mark matters.

Letters, operators, arrows, and the pieces of a lost interface. Select a glyph to inspect its code point and copy it.

Download everything

Free for personal & commercial use. Includes fonts, web styles, editable source, and license.

01 / Install on your computer

Download either v1.1 TTF. Replace your previous Phosphor Wake fonts if already installed. On macOS, open it in Font Book and choose Install. On Windows, right-click and choose Install. On Linux, place it in ~/.local/share/fonts/ and refresh your font cache.

02 / Choose it in your editor

Select Phosphor Wake or Phosphor Wake Burn as your font family. Restart your editor if it doesn’t appear. The font stays monochrome; glow depends on your app’s rendering support.

03 / Put it on the web

Keep the WOFF2 files beside the included CSS and link the stylesheet. Use Regular for the original pixel weight or Burn for a fuller silhouette at any size. Read the complete font notes ↗
