The last gather · a furnace-cathedral

Parison

You are a breath that has not yet become glass.

The master died at the bench. His final gather is still on the pipe — still alive, still moving, because glass that stops moving dies. You are that breath. The lehr is cooling from behind. Burst the bubbles. Weave the iron. If the cold catches you, you anneal: a lump, a paperweight, a forgotten evening.
